Can 5G mobile phone signal jammers distinguish between network data and voice data?

In some restricted environments or for security protocols, simply turning off or temporarily storing the phone may not be enough. The question is whether it is possible to block only data access without affecting voice functions.

In the past, before the advent of 5G technology, most mobile phones used 2G for voice communication and 3G or 4G for data access. During that time, 2G, 3G, 4G, etc. were assigned different frequency bands and ranges. Therefore, jammers can selectively target specific frequency bands associated with different mobile phone models. Essentially, before the 5G era, jammers could distinguish between voice and data functions and block signals accordingly.

But with the advancement of technology, especially in the late 4G era, the widespread application of 5G communication technology, 4G and 5G networks began to support voice and data functions in the same frequency band. For example, when using a 5G smartphone connected to a base station via the 2.6G band, whether making a voice call, browsing a website, or watching streaming video, all data transmission services are within the 2.6G 5G band. Therefore, traditional 5G mobile phone jammers provide full bandwidth coverage and signal shielding for the 2.6G band, but cannot accurately distinguish between voice and 2.6G bands.

With the widespread application of 5G technology, voice and data now operate simultaneously on the same band. Therefore, traditional 5G cell phone jammers are no longer able to specifically shield data access while maintaining voice functionality.
