Everyone is already familiar with mobile phone signal amplifiers, but recently some netizens asked me about the principle of signal amplification. Specifically, how does the signal amplifier achieve bidirectional amplification? Today I will give you a brief explanation to help you understand this concept. You can take some time to remember the key points!
1.What is “bidirectional”?
“Bidirectional” means that both parties in communication can send information to each other. In communication terminology, bidirectional communication is also called half-duplex communication, that is, both parties can send information, but not at the same time (nor can they receive at the same time). This communication method is that one party sends information and the other party receives it. After a period of time, the two parties exchange roles.
“Bidirectional simultaneous communication”, also known as full-duplex communication, means that both parties can send and receive information at the same time. One-way communication only requires one channel, and only one party can send and receive information before the other party can start sending information. But bidirectional alternating communication or bidirectional simultaneous communication requires two channels, one in each direction, and the communication efficiency is the highest. 2.How does a signal amplifier achieve bidirectional amplification?
Mobile phone signal amplifiers, professionally known as repeaters, are composed of various devices or modules such as antennas, RF duplexers, low noise amplifiers, mixers, electrically adjustable attenuators, filters, power amplifiers, etc., which together constitute uplink and downlink amplification links.
The working principle of the mobile phone signal amplifier is: the forward antenna (donor antenna) receives the downlink signal from the base station and sends it to the repeater, amplifies the useful signal through the low noise amplifier, suppresses the noise signal in the received signal, improves the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N), and then down-converts to the intermediate frequency, filters, and further amplifies,
Then the frequency is shifted and up-converted to the radio frequency. After amplification by the power amplifier, it is transmitted to the mobile station by the reverse antenna (retransmission antenna). At the same time, the reverse antenna receives the uplink signal of the mobile station, and the reverse path processes the signal through the uplink amplification link. The signal is transmitted to the base station after passing through the low noise amplifier, down converter, filter, intermediate amplifier, up converter, and power amplifier. In this way, two-way communication can be achieved between the base station and the mobile station.
When installing a signal amplifier, it should be noted that the signal emitted by the indoor antenna cannot be received by the outdoor antenna, otherwise it will cause self-excitation. To avoid this, the two antennas are usually more than 8 meters apart. Now that you understand how signal amplifiers enable two-way communication, please leave a message to tell me what you think.
